We are approaching a critical election in Ohio and I ask that you think about the reason you must vote. While I personally have strong opinions, both positive and negative, about the various candidates for office, the race for Ohio Supreme Court will have incredible impact on working men and women in Ohio.
The Ohio Supreme Court makes decisions every day that effect people in ways that they don’t understand. And, currently the Ohio Supreme Court is entirely one-sided – composed of seven republicans. As an attorney working to promote the rights of working people, the Ohio Supreme Court has not been a friend. The Court has chipped away at benefits for injured workers and eroded the rights of those who have suffered through no fault of their own.
With this background, we should realize the importance of this race. Too often, even people who vote drop off and don’t go down the ballot to vote for candidates for the Ohio Supreme Court. This race is critical for Ohio and for the people I represent.
The election is held in Ohio on November 2, 2010. The last day to register to vote is October 4, 2010. Early voting has already begun and absentee ballots are available. There is no excuse not to vote given these options
