How long do I have to make a claim for Personal Injuries?

Every state has time limits on filing injury claims.  If you do not file a lawsuit in court before that time frame expires, you will be forever barred from bringing a claim.  There are different time frames established for different types of personal injuries.  We know the time limits for filing cases and will work with you to make sure your case is filed timely with the court.

What should I do if I am in a car accident?

If you are involved in a motor vehicle collision, the law requires you to stop your vehicle and to remain at the scene until you have given your name, address and insurance information to either a police officer or the other driver.

Call 911 or ask someone to call for you if you or the other driver are injured.  Do not try to move an injured person.  Seek medical attention immediately if you have been injured.

Contact the police.  Be sure to complete a report with the police.  If they do not come to the scene of the accident, file a police report within 24 hours of the accident.  The police report can help you later if you forget facts.

Ask all witnesses to write down their names, addresses, telephone numbers, and what they saw.

Contact your insurance company.  Some insurance policies require that you inform your insurance company or agent of an accident within 24 hours even if you are not at fault.

Before your vehicle is repaired, take photographs of any damage done to the vehicle as these photographs may be needed if your case is filed into court.

If you have been seriously injured, you should not talk to or sign anything given to you from any representative of the other driver’s insurance company until you have sought the advice of your own attorney.

We offer a free pamphlet with instructions of what to do to keep in your car upon request.
