A jury in Columbus, Ohio ordered a manufacturer of hernia mesh to pay a plaintiff $255,000 for injuries sustained following surgery. It is alleged that the hernia mesh can cause infection, pain and abscesses because it is defectively designed and dangerous. Becton, Dickinson and Co acquired C. L. Bard, the company that sold the mesh prior to 2017. The company still faces more than 26,000 hernia mesh claims in federal and state court.
