Although Monsanto advertises Roundup as a safe means of managing weeds that grow in gardens or lawns, Monsanto was recently hit with thousands of lawsuits based on the claim that Roundup’s active ingredient, glyphosate, causes cancer.

Glyphosate is the primary active ingredient in Roundup, the herbicide Monsanto has been producing since the 1970s. Roundup was originally designed for small scale use but was made available for use in farming. Professional Landscapers as well as residential gardeners have used Roundup routinely for weed killing and control.

It has been alleged in lawsuits that have been filed that Monsanto has known for more than 30 years of the link between Roundup and cancer. In spite of having this knowledge, Monsanto continued to market Roundup as a safe product.

Recent research displays the association between Monsanto’s Roundup and cancer, in conjunction with the product’s direct association with kidney and liver damage. Critical cases of liver and kidney damage can severely interrupt the functioning of the body’s endocrine system, which can elevate the risk of developing non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. As of January 2019, nearly 9,000 plaintiffs have made claims against Monsanto. The criteria that has been established thus far is over 10 years of residential use or 5 years of a professional use that resulted in non-Hodgkin Lymphoma diagnosis.

If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma after use of Roundup by Monsanto, you may be entitled to compensation.  The Roundup attorneys at Gallon, Takacs & Boissoneault are dedicated to ensuring companies are held responsible for the dangerous side effects of their products.  Call our Roundup attorneys at Gallon, Takacs & Boissoneault or fill out the free case evaluation.  We want to help you.
