Why is Talcum Powder Dangerous?

Talc is a natural mineral which used in loose form is known as talcum or baby powder. However it also contains a microscopic particulate that when inhaled can cause cancer. When women use these products externally in their genital area, these particles can travel up to the ovaries, where they can develop into cancer.

Recent studies have found that using talcum powder regularly can increase the risk of ovarian cancer from 2% to 33%!

Johnson & Johnson has known the dangers of talcum powder but continued to promote Shower to Shower as a feminine hygiene product specifically for use in the genital (perineal) area.
